Alan Spackman born and raised in Australia and currently works in Sydney.
He has maintained a studio practice exhibiting professionally where his work explores the intersection of representation and abstraction, photography and painting. He has held solo shows across Sydney. His work is held in various private collections.
As an undergraduate he explored visual arts as a cross disciplinary field, settling on the arts of photography and painting. An interchangeable unity since the invention of the camera within its historical relation to painting. Art for him is a specialist intellectual activity informed by art history, general philosophy, mysticism and metaphysics.
He holds post grad Masters in Art History and Museum studies from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Creative Arts in Painting from the University of Wollongong..
